Children's Ministry at First Presbyterian Church offers Spirit-filled, loving teachers who share God's love and
their faith with children each week. Sunday morning classes for 2 year olds through 5th grade provide Bible learning opportunities using a variety of proven educationally sound techniques. There are two classes for each grade/age level that meet from 9:45 am to 10:45 am every Sunday morning.
Our Bible Computer Lab offers our 3rd graders the opportunity to experience the weekly lesson using a computer.
Sixth grade is our traditional Confirmation year and students who wish to be confirmed spend an hour each Sunday morning, September through April, in Bible study, church history, Presbyterian polity, creeds and confessions as they learn what it means to make a personal commitment to Jesus Christ through membership in the PC(USA).
Vacation Bible School is the highlight of our summer educational program, featuring a week of Bible study, fun and fellowship.
Young Children and Worship is a Sunday morning ministry for pre-kindergarten children, ages 4 and 5, and their parents, offered during both worship services. Families begin worship in the Sanctuary. Just before the sermon, children are invited to travel to the worship center where they continue their worship experience in a setting that provides space for movement and conversation.
Nursery care for the youngest children is provided for all worship and educational programs. A dedicated staff of paid and volunteer caregivers assure quality care in a loving environment. For the safety of our youngest members, pagers are given to parents. The pager code number is used for additional security to identify parents at dismissal time.
Children's Education welcomes all visitors to our program. For more information, call Deb O'Brien our Director of Children's Education, 298-9520 or e-mail her dobrien@fpcnashville.org.
