Wesley Suitt - Senior High Youth Intern
Wesley is originally from Jonesboro, Arkansas where he was very involved in the youth and music program at First United Methodist Church. He started the youth praise band and regularly led worship. He was on the staff at Ozark Mission Project in the summers where his youth group would travel to areas in Arkansas and do home repairs for neighbors while also sharing God’s love with them.
Wesley came to the great state of Tennessee through a music scholarship to MTSU. There he met Raphael Bundage and the relationship with First Presbyterian began! Wesley’s first encounter with the First Pres youth program was when he was cast as Jesus in Godspell and he got to know and love the youth and staff during that production. While in college he was a youth and music intern here so he feels like he is home. He can’t believe the kids he mentored then are now in high school!
Wesley graduated in May 2009 from MTSU with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Industry. He moved from Murfreesboro and now makes this great city his home. He has been working hard at finding a job in the current economy with which all '09 graduates have dealt. This is not quite what he envisioned as a college gradate but has met some incredible people along the way in this journey. Wesley knows God is in control and feels blessed that He opened the door for him to work with the youth at this wonderful church.
The Bible verse that he has prayed and others have prayed over him this past year is Jeremiah 29:11-13: “ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
