Trey Wince - Director of College Ministries
Few times in our lives will we cross paths with people who can only be deemed as "the whole package," but such is the case with Trey Wince. Brains and brawn, wit and raw athleticism, stunning good looks-coupled with an uncanny grasp of Leviticus.
Yes, meet Trey Wince, a humble man hailing from God's country, a place also known as the Promised Land, the Land Flowing with Milk and Honey (actually, milk and crude oil), or more simply…Oklahoma. After spending his formative years in Oklahoma, he ventured south into the land of Texas to study at Baylor University where he earned a degree in Books-That-Nobody-Else-Ever-Reads (AKA…English Literature).
Not unlike many holders of English degrees, Trey took a job leading marine biology/mission trips in south Florida after graduating. For the next three years, Trey traveled the western hemisphere, leading more mission trips than he is able to count. Sometimes he would rent an apartment, but more often than not, a friend's (or even acquaintance's) couch would do the trick. He presently holds the unofficial record for having slept on couches in more states/countries than anyone else in the history of the couch.
Despite this travel experience, poor planning has still occasionally led Trey to sleeping on the streets of foreign countries; he has yet to kick his addiction to picking up hitchhikers; and he still tries unfamiliar foods before questioning the possible effects of its ingredients.
Trey loves both Nashville and First Presbyterian Church, and is making strides to cure his geographic commitment-phobia. He bought a house, within minutes of the church, and is considering the benefits of a backyard garden and compost pile.
He loves youth and college students and considers them the most passionate people group in the world. . .even if their passion might be a little inconvenient.
His favorite Bible verse at the moment is: John 21:15: When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these? "Yes Lord," he said, "You know that I like you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."
