Rethinking Heaven: Fall 2010 Study
“Why have I never been taught this before?” That was the question of one participant in the Wednesday School class, “What Presbyterians Believe about Death and Resurrection.” It was in response to N.T. Wright’s updated account of “Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church” in his book, Surprised by Hope.
Because of the enthusiastic response to the portions of that book covered, Associate Pastor Stuart Gordon will lead a three-month study of the entire book on Thursdays, beginning September 9. If you are interested in questions about what happens when we die, what will come of the world, and why we confess “I believe in the resurrection of the body,” then you’ll enjoy this wonderful book.
Each week, a meal is served at 6:30 for $5, with the class discussing the book from 7:00-8:00. Let Stuart know if you plan to attend (sgordon@fpcnashville.org or 298-9554), and feel free to get the book now for summer reading.
