Welcome to the Purple Room…
In the purple room we have children 3.5-4 years old. Our room works on many different things daily. We carry concepts though out the school year in the hopes that the children will build on old knowledge while gaining new.
Daily we encourage the use of good manners, respect, patience, following directions and independence. These may seem obvious to adults, but for a small child they take time to master. We create an environment of safety and respect for all who enter.
Throughout the year we work on concepts such as: literacy, mathematics (numbers, sequencing, seriation, patterning), writing, fine motor skills (manipulatives, use of scissors, dexterity), colors, music, self expression and creativity.
With the use of large and small groups, centers, and one on one teaching, children are able to learn and thrive at their own pace and in their own unique way. We also feel it is important to focus on the spiritual development of children and you will often hear prayers, songs and stories that are Biblically based. We also enjoy chapel time once a week in the sanctuary.
This is an exciting time in the development of young children, we strive to serve children as the unique and creative individuals that they are.
