Ryan Wallace - Junior High Youth Director

Ryan WallaceRyan Wallace is from Chicago, Illinois, but he has been living in Nashville since 2006, and graduated from Vanderbilt University in December, 2008 with majors in Religious Studies, Philosophy, and Spanish. Ryan returned to the states from Spain after spending a semester studying Spanish and Catalan in the University of the Balearic Islands in Palma de Mallorca, a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea. And although he's one of the palest people you've ever met, he enjoyed perfecting his short-lived tan on the Spanish beaches.

One of Ryan's biggest passions is mission work, which he has been involved with for many years. He has participated in and led missions all over the world, including trips to Mexico, Costa Rica, and Ghana. He has since become involved with several not-for-profit organizations, including one called "Friends of Atebubu," which works towards the development of the small, rural community of Atebubu, Ghana, West Africa.

Outside of church, Ryan loves to spend his free time cooking, playing sports, skiing, hearing and telling fantastical stories, playing with his dog, and making fun of BJ whenever possible (which is usually very easy). When Ryan is not watching the Food Network, he is probably watching some kind of sporting event, which he spends way too many hours watching. His favorite teams (so you can be careful not to make him cry by hating on them) are the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. As for that reading thing Ryan does every once in awhile, his favorite recent book is "The Irresistible Revolution" by Shane Claiborne.

Ryan's favorite Bible verse is Micah 6:8, "He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
