Mystery's Over: Vancouver, British Columbia!
It was an absolutely fabulous week! We traveled to Vancouver, British
Columbia where we worked at the Gospel Union Mission which has 8
separate missions around the city. We did anything and everything they
needed from serving meals, manning bread lines, conducting 2 chapel
services to waxing floors, painting, weed eating, and sorting items for
their thrift store, and much more.
Saturday we helped host a picnic in the park for homeless of New West
Minister. Over 400 meals were served and each attendee received a new,
clean t-shirt. All in all, the mission estimated that we saved them
over 3+ weeks of work and around $4,000 of their very tight budget!
Monday we ventured up to the majestic Whistler Mountain! After a warm
and filling lunch, we headed up the mountain. Three ski lifts and a bus
ride later, we were learning how to use our ice axes as we took off on
a glacier hike!
It definitely wouldn't be the Mystery trip if we didn't have something
happen that NO ONE anticipated. Due to a canceled flight, we were able
to spend and extra day trekking around Seattle, Space Needle and all!
We give God all the praise for a truly magnificent experience and
offer sincere thanks to all those at First Presbyterian Church who
prayerfully support our youth and college missions.
