Matt Garvey - High School Outreach Director
Matthew Frederick Garvey is one of the newest members of the Youth Staff. He is also quite possibly the strongest, fastest, and most agile of all the Youth Staff, making him the complete package were he to compete in the '08 Olympics. On top of all of that, Matthew is the youngest Youth Staffer, which is a testament to his undeniably high maturity level. His connection to FPC Nashville came through the Great Escape Midwest where he has served as the bombastic Recreation Director/Ultimate Warrior the past 5 years.
Matthew hails from the great state of Indiana, home of the '07 AFC South and Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts. He grew up in the Indianapolis suburb of Zionsville, where the streets are paved in gold and sweet, sweet honey flows in abundance. He attended Zionsville Community High School, home of state champions in Football, Men's Golf, and Men's Lacrosse. After his long and illustrious high school career, Matthew went on to attend Ohio Wesleyan University, internationally known as the Harvard of the Midwest. During his tenure at "OWU" he majored in History, studying the likes of people like William Wince, the Duke of Earl.
In his free time Matthew enjoys many great activities such as cheering for his world champion Indianapolis Colts, soon-to-be national champions Indiana University Hoosiers, and national champions The Ohio State University Buckeyes. When Matthew is not watching his teams win championships, he enjoys playing sand volleyball, lacrosse and frisbee, as well as fishing and camping. Matthew also finds time to play with his two beautiful and supremely intelligent dogs, Maggie, a German shepherd mix and Abby, a Golden retriever pup.
Matthew cannot contain his excitement about working at FPC Nashville. He is so excited that God has blessed him with the opportunity to work here and hang out with the great families of Nashville. Feel free to stop by his office anytime but tread lightly because Matthew is a highly skilled master of deception and a surprise could be waiting for you at any moment.
