Mary Hancock - Wednesday Night Youth Leader

Mary grew up in Nashville, TN as a youth member of FPC. She attended St. Cecilia Academy and loved participating in sports, hangin’ with the Sisters (Nuns), growing in her faith, and wearing a plaid skirt. Recently, Mary graduated from Auburn University …WAR EAGLE. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. That means she has been studying a lot about people, which means she enjoys being around people and getting to know people. She spent her time at Auburn cheering on the football team, living with 7 of the greatest roomies, being a sorority gal, and lovin’ life on the plains of Auburn.
So, what is Mary doing with her life now? She recently finished an internship with Preston Taylor Ministries, where she got to hang with some of the coolest kids in town…the same kind of cool she will get to hang with on Wednesday nights. Now that her internship has ended, she is trying to find a JOB. She hopes to land a job where she gets to learn and help others. Mary is in a very exciting and unknown place with her life right now. With each transition in her life, she has learned how to trust in her faith. Mary is certainly trusting in it. She can’t complain. She gets to be a part of a really cool staff on Wednesday nights and live at home with really cool parents where she doesn’t have to pay rent.
Mary L-O-V-E-S a lot of things…but a few of those things she loves most include…the big G, the fam and friends, her dog (Max), running, Preston Taylor Ministries, people, journaling, Mexican food, missions, and football season.
One of her favorite bible verses is… “Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” Romans 5:3-5
